Built in 1882, the Tibbits Opera House is one the oldest theatres in Michigan. Not only is the theatre an historic site, it also boasts near perfect acoustics that ensure a rich experience for all 499 seats in the house .
Tibbits Art Gallery gives local and regional artists of all
mediums a place to display their works. The Art Gallery is located in
the lower level of Tibbits Opera House, as well as, a permanent collection
throughout the theatre.
From aspiring to established artists, the Art Gallery has works on display
during most performances year round that we invite you to enjoy.
For more than 120 years the people of Coldwater have enjoyed this treasure. While the years have been difficult for the theatre, this treasure is coming back. A full restoration project has been under way for several years and is ensuring that all of us will be able to enjoy top performances for years to come.
